There was a minor upset when 6th rankedAntwerp Giants (20-13) were defeated on the road by ninth ranked Leuven Bears (18-14) 87-76 on Monday. Leuven outrebounded Antwerp 40-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. American guard Noah Freidel (193-2000, college: JMU) scored 27 points to lead the charge for the winners and DR Congolese-Belgian Wen Boss Mukubu (198-1983, college: UAB) chipped in 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side American guard Michael Flowers (185-1999, college: WSU) responded with 20 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and his fellow American import power forward JaVon Franklin (201-1998, college: Georgia Tech) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Leuven Bears have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Den Bosch and Union Mons. Loser Antwerp Giants keeps the sixth position with 13 games lost.
